Dr. Offer Rosenstein is a research scientist at the Institute of Soil, Water and Environmental Sciences at ARO since 2016. From 2014-2016 he held a Postdoctoral position at McGill University, Canada. His primary scientific interest is remote-sensing and mathematical models to support precision irrigation, sustainable water resources management, land-use classification applications, and environmental monitoring. He is the PI on several competitive research grants for empowering big-data-driven farming and agricultural water management. He has published 40 articles in refereed journals that reflect his collaborations with research groups from Europe, China, and Canada. He holds three patents for estimating crop coefficient and evapotranspiration of crops based on remote sensing. He was a recipient of the Tim Casgrain Water Resource Research Award from McGill University, the Mokadi Award for an outstanding doctoral thesis in soil and water sciences from the Israeli Society of Soil Science, and the Yehiel Admoni Award for exceptional research in the field of combating desertification and agricultural development in arid areas.
